Butler County High Chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America bring home several state awards

The Butler County High Chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended the State FCCLA Leadership meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.  This year’s theme was KY FCCLA:  This is Us!  Members attended a variety of sessions geared toward leadership and community service as well as a formal banquet.
Butler County’s FCCLA chapter received the following awards:  Scholarship donation, Sepsis Alliance donation and a Silver Honor Roll.

House Sends Final Two-Year Budget to Governor Bevin; Historic Budget Invests Record Amount in Pensions, Education

 FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 2, 2018) – The Kentucky House of Representatives has finalized a two-year state budget that pours $3.3 billion into the pension systems, boosts SEEK classroom funding to $4,000, and fully restores all of the Governor’s cuts to school transportation and retiree health insurance.

National Donate Life Month

Butler County Judge Executive David Fields and Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps signed the following proclamation declaring April as National Donate Life Month.  Butler County Circuit Clerk Melissa Cardwell and staff hosted the event.  Cardwell was recently elected president of the Trust for Life Board in Kentucky.

Public pension bill heading to governor
