Flener defeats White for judge-executive; Givens, Phelps, Givens, Whittinghill and Bryant win races for Fiscal Court

After a hard-fought primary election, Tim Flener garnered nearly 1,000 votes in a five-way race to secure the Republican nomination for Butler County Judge-Executive.  He will face Mark Mudd, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary, in the November General Election.

Rochester Pride Day: Suffolk Historical Marker dedicated

On Saturday, May 12, Rochester Pride Day was held.  It's theme was "Celebrating Our Rich Past & Bright Future."  The main attraction was the dedication of the Suffolk Historical Marker on the corner of Ferry Street and Creamery Street. The marker is the 14th in Butler County.

88 Students Graduate in the Gatton Academy's 11th Class

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Saturday, 88 students representing 48 counties from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky were recognized during The Gatton Academy’s 11th graduation ceremony in Van Meter Hall.

Gatton Academy Executive Director and Mahurin Professor of Gifted Education Dr. Julia Roberts expressed that the graduation ceremony was a celebration for Kentucky.

BC Arts Guild opens its doors to community

The Butler County Arts Guild had nearly 100 people pass through their newly opened doors on Friday night, as they hosted the grand opening of their newly renovated gallery space. Included in the crowd, were several local, regional and state officials.
