Yvonne Decker Pharris

Yvonne Decker Pharris, age 83 of Morgantown passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown.

 

She is survived by one half-sister, Glenda Dockery (Delbert), two sisters-in-law, Allean Embry and Lue Logan (Harold), and three brothers-in-law, Reval Pharris, Connie Pharris (Jean) and Teddy Pharris (Janice).

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.C. Pharris, one sister, June Willis, and one half-sister, Faye Crowe (Tommy).

Alan Ross Johnson

Alan Ross Johnson, 71 of Murray, KY formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY. Alan was born September 7, 1947 in Butler County, KY to Ross and the late Erdine Smith Johnson and husband of the late Delilah Maxwell Johnson. He was a United States Navy veteran, member of the American Legion and he retired from Morgantown Plastics.

William Lowell "Bill"Weedman Sr.

One of Kentucky’s most loyal sons is finally returning home to the bluegrass. William Lowell “Bill” Weedman passed from this life and into the beyond on August 23, 2019. Though dementia locked away many of his memories in the later years of his life, it never touched the love Bill had for his family, his friends, his Kentucky Wildcats basketball and plenty of good bourbon.

Donald Lee "Don" Davis

Donald Lee "Don" Davis, 64 of Morgantown, KY passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Franklin, KY. Don was born May 9, 1955 in Glasgow, KY to the late Walter Ralph and Dolly Rolene Hurt Davis who survives. He was a member of Morgantown Community Church, Bowling Green bicycle league and he retired from Houchens Industries as district manager after 33 years. Don was a avid cycler, comic book collector and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He loved fish aquariums and his dog Lance. Don volunteered at the Morgantown Mission every Thursday and loved his church family and friends.

Edward T. Farris

Edward T. Farris, 85, of Ohio Co., Ky. passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. He was born on March 1, 1934 to the late John Calvin and Elsie Mae Burden Farris.  He was member of Aberdeen Baptist Church and retired from TVA, as a millwright.  Ed was a member of the Cassia Masonic Lodge #272 and loved to fish and hunt. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Reathel Farris.

James Ewing Read

James Ewing Read, 72, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home. He was born February 16, 1947 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Ralph Rayburn Read and Rosa Nell Brizendine Read. James had been employed by Young Manufacturing for 34 years and was a faithful member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. He loved camping and taking his grandkids fishing.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Randall Lynn Read, Walter Travis Read and Ronnie Ray Read and stepmother, Nora Evelyn Read.

Sandra Doris "Sandy" Caudill

Mrs. Sandra Doris "Sandy" Caudill, 68, of Brownstown, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. She was born in Morgantown, KY to the late David Hartis, Sr. and June (Harper) Humphrey.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, August 22 at 10 am with Rev. Van Breeding officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Home Old Regular Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4-8 pm and Thursday from 9 am until time of service.

Brian "Chef Amp" Stanley Flewallen

Brian "Chef Amp" Stanley Flewallen, 44 of Bowling Green, KY formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away Monday, August 19,2019 at his residence. He was born February 21, 1975 in Warren, Michigan to Kenneth Earl Flewallen and Patricia Gail Janas Hegedus. Brian's passion was cooking, fishing, music, nature and all of God's beauty. He loved his wife and spending time with family. Brian is preceded in death by one son Isaak Paul Flewallen; grandparents Stanley and Betty Janas and Paul and Margaret "Cap" Flewallen and one step sister Amanda Cardwell Williams.

Justice Vinson Jenkins

Justice Vinson Jenkins, 91 of Quality, KY died peacefully at 2:34am on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Morgantown Care & Rehab Center.  'Jut' was his nickname & he was blessed to be affectionately called "Pappy Jut", not only by his family, but by many in Butler County. Jut was born on April 2, 1928 the youngest of 12 children of Avery & Attice Jenkins.  He was fortunate to be born in the same house he spent his life in, until he became a resident at MCRC.
