Pete “PJ” Dockery, age 41, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on June 5, 2026, at Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

PJ was born on November 24, 1984, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and he spent his life rooted in the community and the people he loved. He was a graduate of Butler County High School and attended Brooklyn Baptist Church. Those who knew him will remember a man whose life was marked by devotion, kindness, and a genuine love for others. He was loving, generous, and thoughtful, and he carried those qualities into every part of his life.

Peggy Cardwell Johnson, age 91, of Sweeden, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at her residence. An Edmonson County native, Peggy was born on July 25, 1934, to the late Julius Neil and Lonis Basham Cardwell. She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, John Henry Johnson, until his passing on January 8, 2008.

James Frank Carwile Jr., age 70, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away May 23rd, 2026 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.   He was born on August 23rd,1955 to the late James Frank Carwile Sr. and Eleanor Chute Nutgrass.  He was a retired painter who enjoyed fishing, hiking and being outdoors.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters Donna Searcy, John Carwile, Mary Diehl, Chrissy Lynn Diehl and Paul Diehl.

Ruby Christine Davis, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Born in Morgantown, Kentucky to the late Oakley and Ruby (Flener) Coots on May 16, 1935. Chris was a member of Westport Baptist Church. She retired from Louisville Gas & Electric and worked for Owen Funeral Home with her husband for over 15 years. Chris was also honored by receiving the Key to the City of Louisville.

Portia Sue Calloway Maier, 75, of Hartford, Kentucky passed away on May 20, 2026, surround by her family at Ohio County Healthcare under the care of Hospice of Ohio County. She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on March 3, 1951, to the late Porter and Vernell Calloway. She attended church at Hopewell Baptist. Portia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as playing the piano.

Aside from her parents Portia was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Maier;  son, Jason Daugherty and her “soulmate”, Jackie Casey.
