Rayburn Lee Johnson, 79, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020.  Rayburn was born in Butler County on September 1, 1940 to the late Eugene and Katherine West Johnson. He took much pride in his career as a Riverboat Captain for over 40 years.

Patricia retired from Sumitomo Corporation in Morgantown and was a member of Friendship Church of Christ in Fordsville.

Ray Hawkins, 68, of Morgantown, KY passed away Monday, July 6, 2020, in Morgantown, KY. Ray was born September 12, 1951, to the union of Lewis and Goldie Pendley Hawkins. He was a Nelson Pentecostal Church member in Central City, KY, and a retired heavy equipment operator and coal miner. Ray loved fishing and his family, and they were always a top priority. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by father and mother in law Charlie and Mary Lou Gill; two brothers-in-laws Gail Huff and Greg Gill and one sister in law Alice Hawkins.

James “David” Woosley, age 57, of Caneyville, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 4, 2020) at his residence.

He was born on February 2, 1963, in Leitchfield, KY, the son of the late James “Jimmie” and Pauline (Woosley) Woosley.

He was a farmer who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and trapshooting. He was a member of the Jesus First Apostolic Church and attended at the Caneyville Church of God of Prophecy.

Robert Lee Stringer

Robert Lee Stringer, 64 of Owensboro, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 6:35 a.m. at the Hospice of Western Kentucky- Heartford House after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born September 22, 1955 in Madisonville, KY to the late George and Lillian Tynski Stringer who survives. Robert married his love Melissa Bowers on March 16, 1985. He was a Owensboro Senior High graduate class of 1974 and he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Western KY University class of 1978.

David "Bobby" Kirby, 82 of Morgantown, KY passed away Wednesday July 1, 2020 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Bobby was born July 27, 1937 in the Southhill Community of Butler County, KY to the union of William Lester and Phoebie Golden Webster Kirby. He was a member of Cool Springs General Baptist Church and a retired carpenter. Bobby loved fishing, being outside, watcking UK Basketball and loved being a Grandpa.

Wilbur C. Daugherty, 78 of Bowling Green, Ky formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Wilbur was born June 28, 1942 in Ohio County, Kentucky to the union of Jesse and Leona Morris Daugherty. He was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church and he retired from IMCO Recycling. Wilbur was a avid UK fan who loved playing golf, cards, mowing the yard and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Kenneth Lee Daugherty and Sammy Daugherty.

Barry Lynn Givens, 70 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday July 1, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 24, 1950 in Butler County, Kentucky to the union of Ellis Thornton and Leatrice Joy Mayhugh Givens. Barry was a retired farmer and he volunteered for many years at the Morgantown Care & Rehab.
