Jerry Baker

Jerry Baker, 76, of Rochester, Ky. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Nov. 8, 1943 to the late Thurman and Urith Smith Baker. He was a member of Rochester Baptist Church and was retired from Peabody Coal Co.  Jerry loved to farm and fish.  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Michelle Baker.

Laura Simmons

Laura Simmons, 54, of Lewisburg, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was born in Anaheim, California on Oct. 23, 1965 to the late Harold and Josephine "Josie" Simmons.  Laura was a self employed dog groomer and loved taking care of her dogs and alpaca's.  She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.  

Laura is survived by her companion of 21 years, Darrell Kessinger of Lewisburg.

Services are private.  Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Joel Duke

Joel Duke, 76 of Brooklyn, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Morgantown Care & Rehab in Morgantown, Kentucky. Joel was born March 30, 1944 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Aubrey T. and Lucy Daugherty Duke. He was a member of Christian Home Church of Christ and a United States Army Veteran. Joel was a retired construction contractor, owner and operator of Joel's Construction and Contracting and Duke's Barber Shop. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Genevieve "Jenny" Wilson and two brothers Jerlow and Earlow Duke.

Delma Maria Diaz

Delma Maria Diaz, 74 of Morgantown, KY passed away Tuesday October 13, 2020 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Delma was born December 3, 1945 in Uvalde, Texas to the late Francisco and Maria Rodriguez Ortiz. She was a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church and a retired restaurant owner. Delma loved to cook and sew. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by four sisters O'Delia Hernandez, Dora Rodriguez, Naomi Cardenas and Beatriz Rodriguez;  three brothers Jesus, Paul and Tony Rodriguez and one granddaughter Elena "Ellie" Grace Burns.

Lehmon Wayne Phelps, 73, of Roundhill, Ky passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Lehmon was born November 20, 1946 in Butler County, Ky to the union of the late Willis Wayne Phelps and Zonie Mae Johnson Childres. He loved Driving trucks, westerns, family and good BBQ.

Pete Delgado

Pete Delgado, 68, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in East Chicago, IL on Oct. 8, 1952 to the late Sotero and Trinidad Hernandez Delgado  Pete retired from Corvac and formerly worked at a steel mill in Gary, IN, he also worked many years at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, Paul and Richard Delgado and sister Alice Delgado.

Sarah Sue King Schoenborn

Sarah Sue King Schoenborn, 73, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on March 2, 1947 to the late John C. and Martha Mae Miller King.  Sarah was the pastor of Trinity Pentecostal Church for ten years.  She loved flowers, gardening and bowling.  Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; husband Audie Pierson; brother Jerry Calvin King; sister Gracie Lucille Berry and sister Lottie Mae Rojas.

Flossie Ray Kessinger

Flossie Ray Kessinger, age 88, of Edmonson County, departed this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home.  The Butler County native was born on July 6, 1932 to the late William A. and Barbara Jane Embry Burns.  She was married to the late Oren Kessinger.

Ola Willis Gabbard

Ola Willis Gabbard, 90, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 at Morgantown Care and Rehab.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on May 6, 1930 to the late Earl and Alice Johnson Willis.  Ola was a member of Mount Lebanon Church of Christ. Ola was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at 4th District School and enjoyed working on the farm and enjoyed seeing the baby farm animals.
