The Butler County Sheriff’s Department stopped a 1983 Malibu on North Tyler Street seen leaving the area of a prowler complaint on September 14th at 2:48am.

School Board travels to Green River School

The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Green River School.  All board members were in attendance.

Celebrating 80 Years: Butler County Farm Bureau host annual membership meeting

 Butler County Farm Bureau’s Outstanding Service to Agriculture was presented to  Lloyd Saylor

On Tuesday, September 11, members of Butler County Farm Bureau gathered for their 80th annual membership meeting at the Eva J. Hawes Agriculture Center in Morgantown. President Shane Wells welcomed those in attendance at the meeting; an invocation by Bro. Jim McDaniels followed.

Homecoming 2018; King Diaz and Queen Martin

Butler County Homecoming was held on Friday night prior to the football game.  The parade of cars was followed by the crowning of the king and queen. 

Brooklyn Martin was named queen. Brooklyn is the daughter of Jason Martin and Misty Williams both of Morgantown.

Daugherty, Basham to remain on Ambulance Board; county tax rates set

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, September 10th at the Butler County Courthouse.  Magistrates Stevie Givens, Johnny Tuck, Chad Tyree, and David Whittinghill were in attendance. 
In the first item of business the court reappointed Pat Daugherty and O'Neil Basham to the Butler County Ambulance Board.  Both currently serve on the board but were up for reappointment.  They join Debbie Rose Worley, Chad Johnson, and Teresa Johnson on the board.

MPD makes drug arrest

On September 9, 2018, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers with the Morgantown Police were on routine patrol when a suspicious vehicle was observed on East Roberts Steet.
A traffic stop was conducted, and thru investigation a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana was located.
The subject operating the vehicle was Travis West, 38 of Morgantown.
West was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia-buy /possess, possession of controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine, and lodged in the Butler County Jail.

Deal reached on I-165 designation

State and federal transportation officials on Tuesday amended the William H. Natcher Parkway-I-165 conversion agreement in order to designate the highway stretching from Bowling Green to Owensboro an interstate before several interchange projects along it are completed.

Kentucky dairy, other farms look to the future

FRANKFORT — Millions of gallons of milk—including milk produced in Kentucky—will be purchased by the federal government to benefit U.S. dairy farmers and food banks, state lawmakers heard today.
