Warren RECC Warns of Phone Scam

November 12, 2018 (Bowling Green, Ky) Warren RECC has received several reports from members who have received phone calls threatening disconnection of their electric service. The caller gives members an 800 number to call to make their payment. Warren RECC employees will never contact members requesting payment over the phone.

Pursuit Ends With Arrest

On November 10th at 8:23 PM, the Morgantown Police Department was dispatched to the 24-mile marker of the William H Natcher Parkway to observe for a black Chevy Pontiac driving recklessly. Callers stated the vehicle was all over the road and had sideswiped a truck.
The officer made contact with the vehicle which continued at a high rate of speed.

Morgantown City Council: Charles Black City Park Renovation Master Plan unveiled

Plans for possible renovation of Charles Black City Park in Morgantown.

Morgantown City Council met in regular session on Thursday, November 8th at the Eva J. Hawes Agriculture and Expo Center.  All council members - Dustin Embry, Sharon Johnson, Russell Givens, Gary Southerland, Jason Gaskey, and Sterling White were in attendance.

Kenneth Searles was born April 29, 1934.  He was drafted February 2, 1954 as a 19-year-old resident of Metropolis, IL.

MCRC's Hall of Fame 2018

Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center inducted three recipients into its Hall of Fame on Thursday night, at Morgantown Community Church. Inductees were: Ruby Humphrey (Elder), Angie Peay (Stakeholder), and Don Lindsey (In Memoriam)/(Community Member/Volunteer).

The Rev. Derek Cain, Chaplain at MCRC, served as emcee of the event. Becky Mudd provided special music on the piano.

ELECTION RESULTS: Flener elected judge-executive; Givens, Phelps new magistrates; Merritt joins city council

           Tim Flener cruised to victory Tuesday night as a "Red" wave appeared to be in full force across Butler County.  Flener, a Republican, defeated Democrat Mark Mudd by a margin of 2,056 votes.

Butler County Recycling - keeping our community clean!

By now most people have seen the recycling bins at several different locations in our county. These bins are regularly emptied and maintained by Corey Raymer and his two part-time workers Linda Howard and Carlos Raymer.
