Sixth grader Ethan Clark was the last man standing on Friday, February 5, at the annual Butler County Middle School Spelling Bee. Clark was one of twelve participants who advanced to the school-wide bee following classroom competition. Hezikiah Pendley, also a sixth grader, was runner-up.

There is a new Girl Scout Troop in Morgantown. Girl Scout Troop #1435 represents Morgantown Elementary School. The girls have earned their cookie badges.

With a growing photography business since 2007, Laurie Keen plans to take the next step and open a studio in Morgantown. A grand opening is set for tomorrow - Saturday, February 13 - at 125 West G.L. Smith Street, Suite B - just down from Bill Hood's True Value Hardware.

There will be a baby shower for Katie and Michael Gary on Saturday, February 13th at 1:00pm at the Butler County Educational Complex in Morgantown. ( Mike Truelove Complex) It will be in the training center room. Entrance is on left side of the building. Balloons will be up.

The 4-H Summit Conference will be held March 13-17, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Center in Jabez, KY. The first four to register and pay will only be allowed to go. Cost for this trip will be $60.00. Deadline to register is February 15, 2016.

Lily Glass was the winner of the Primary Spelling Bee at Morgantown Elementary School on Friday, February 5, 2016. Camden Wilson won second place and Chloe Cardwell was the third place winner. Congratulations to all the Spelling Bee Contestants.
