4-H Summit

The 4-H Summit Conference will be held March 13-17, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland 4-H Center in Jabez, KY. The first four to register and pay will only be allowed to go. Cost for this trip will be $60.00. Deadline to register is February 15, 2016. At the conference you will learn more about leadership, teambuilding, have a lot of fun, make some great new friends and, most importantly, be able to take that home to make a difference in your county 4-H program.  The planning committee has worked hard to pull together an outstanding program featuring top quality workshops, activities and entertainment.  Here’s some information you’ll need to know as you prepare for the conference.

Workshop Assignments
A variety of workshops will be offered to you free of charge.  We will have signups for these workshops on the first night at the Leadership Center.  Don’t sign up for something just because your friends are doing so…this is a great time to meet some new people!

This year we will also be offering evening funshops.  These are also free of charge and are an additional chance to meet new people and have fun while at 4-H Summit.

Team Assignments
To help make the week function more smoothly, each delegate has been assigned to a team of 10-12 youth and one or more State 4-H Teen Council members.  We will ask that you check in with your team leaders periodically throughout the weekend.  In addition, this will give you a chance to meet others from different districts and parts of the state.  Teams are PURPOSEFULLY designed to break up counties.  This is a chance to make some new friends.  You are only in teams for a short period each day.

Tentative Program
I know a lot of you are wondering what you will be doing at the Leadership Center during the conference.  In addition to the time you will be spending in your workshops and other learning sessions, planned recreation includes a dance, group games and an ice cream social.  Your agent can provide you with a copy of the 3 day agenda.
