Noatley Glendel “Bob” Lee

Noatley Glendel “Bob” Lee, age 84, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021 at the TriStar Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky.  He was born in Leetown, Ky. on June 2, 1937 to the late Harry and Dixie Tines Lee.  Bob was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, a retired farmer and truck driver for the Butler County Road Dept.  He enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals and listening to Bluegrass music.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Kenneth Rayburn Lee; sister-in-law Brenda White, brother-in-law Charlie Mosley and his beloved granddog Sadie Lee.

Ruby Nell Morphew McKinney,

Ruby Nell Morphew McKinney, 89, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born on Jan. 14, 1932 to the late Ira and Nancy Jane Phelps Morphew.  She was one of the first employees for Kanes Manufacturing in the 1950’s and a member of Cool Springs General Baptist Church for more than 80 years. She loved genealogy and embroidery.  Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilbur Estill McKinney; three sisters Lucille McKinney Miller, Gustava Piper and Myrl Humphrey.

Vida Lee Henderson, 90 of Morgantown, Kentucky entered peacefully into rest Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Vida was born on Friday, March 6, 1931 in Butler Co., KY to the late Zelmer Lindsey Tarrence. Vida enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and loved ones. She spent her entire life taking care of those she loved; she was an excellent caregiver, especially to her family.

She was a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church, Butler County Homemakers Association, past president of the Provo Rural Development and KY State Homemakes Association.

Grace Ann Roberts Mitchell, 76, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.  She was born in Pine Bluff, Missouri on Oct. 4, 1944 to the late Floyd and Annie Gillespey Roberts.   She was a homemaker and enjoyed stamp collecting, reading, and watching tv.  She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim, Floyd Jr. (Bucky), Lee, Danny and Bobby Roberts; sisters Judy Owens and Nora Hernandez.

Hubert “Nick” Venable James Jr.

Hubert “Nick” Venable James Jr. 80, passed away at his home in Bowling Green KY on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

He was born September 5, 1940, to Hubert Venable and Margaret Snider James in Franklin KY. A natural athlete, he remained an avid sportsman throughout his life. Graduating from Franklin-Simpson High in 1958 and WKU in 1963, he was proud to be in ROTC, an SAE and later a Kentucky Colonel.

Shirley Mae Scott, 68 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at her residence. Shirley was born November 29, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Ernest Franklin and Gladys Mae Cook Scott. She enjoyed spending time with family, working on the computer, listening to the Patriot Soapbox, watching the ID Channel and her faithful dog Mawmaw. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one son Ricky Lee Johnson; two sisters Julia "Judy" Ann Scott Johnson and Norma Faye Scott Gambrell and one brother Ernest Carl Scott.
