Kentucky highway fatalities declined in 2018

FRANKFORT – Preliminary figures indicate highway fatalities in Kentucky declined in 2018 to 722, down from 782 in 2017. According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety (KOHS), this is the second consecutive year that roadway fatalities have decreased.

Brady Jones top district speller

District Spelling Bee Winner Brady Jones and Butler County Schools' Superintendent Scott Howard

The 2018-19 Butler County Spelling Bee was held Tuesday night, January 29, at the education complex.  BCMS student Brady Jones took home top honors in the event against quality competition from both Morgantown Elementary and North Butler Elementary.  Brady's winning word was "snuggle."

January 24, 2019 - The Kentucky Circuit Clerks’ Trust For Life is proud to announce that last year was a record-setting year, both locally and nationally, for saving lives through organ donation and giving individuals a second chance at life.

 

“In Kentucky, more than 140,000 people joined the Registry for the first time.  1,979,175 Kentuckians are now registered which is 60% of the adults in our Commonwealth,” explains Butler Co. Circuit Clerk, Melissa Cardwell.

Update: Suspect in Custody-Home Burglary on Brownsville Road

Update: January 24, 2019- -The suspect is in custody and lodged in the Butler County Jail.  He is charged with burglary, first degree.  Caleb Dunn, 25, of Edmonson County, was arrested on January 24th at 490 Wolf Dam Road in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky.  Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Joe Alford received an anonymous tip concerning the vehicle involved in the burglary.

Jones back in custody

BREAKING: Bradley Adam Jones is back in custody following a work-site escape last week. According to reports, Jones was apprehended at 10:45am this morning by KSP Trooper Alexander with the assistance of BGPD & BGWC Drug Task Force. He was located at Garden Apartment Complex on Trent Way in Bowling Green. Jones is currently lodged in the Butler County Jail.
