On Monday, November 14 at 10 am, a ribbon cutting ceremony commenced at the Gasper River Association building as a dedication for its use as a Relay Center for Operation Christmas Child, a division of Samaritan's Purse International Relief.

Morgantown has a new Marine, Private Chesty Ray Phelps.  Following in his dad's footsteps, Mayor Billy Phelps' English Bulldog was sworn in on Veterans' Day at the Butler County High School with the NJROTC cadets as witnesses.

On Monday, November 14 at 1 pm, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate and welcome Tammy's Hillside Bargains, to the Hillside Plaza at 191 Veteran's Way in Morgantown.

Raymond S. Casson was born November 30, 1938, in Lockport, Illinois, to Eliza Mae Orr Casson and Victor James Casson.  He had one brother, Ronald Casson.  Raymond married his wife in 1987, and they had three children, one stepson, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

We honor Donald Rufus Phelps as our Veteran of the Year.  He was one of six children born to Julian and Ruth (Haycraft) Phelps in the Horsemill Community of Butler County.  His siblings were Rufard Lee Phelps, Virginia Phelps Hatcher, Wandell Phelps, Geneva Phelps Sweat and Randall Phelps.  The P
