Violet White Godsey

Violet White Godsey, 83, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at   her  residence. She was born in Morgantown, Ky.,  September  26, 1932  to the late Jesse and Myrtle Daughtery White.  Mrs. Godsey  was a member of the New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church,  retired factory worker and volunteered for the Gilstrap Community Center. Violet loved taking care of children and cooking for her family and friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rex Godsey, two brothers Charles L. and Dewell White.

She is survived by one Sister Bernice Sublett and husband Eddie of Gilstrap; one Brother David White and wife Imogene of Gilstrap; Sister's-In-Law Charlotte White of Cromwell, Betty White of Dexterville; Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 12:00 pm with Bro.Geoffery Johnson, Bro. Gene Gardner and Bro. Bob Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8pm and Friday 9am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
