Mildred Ruth Scott, age 94, of Morgantown, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 11, 2023. Ruth was born on February 8, 1929 in Butler County, KY to the union of the late Aubrey and Anna Mae Morris Phelps. Ruth was the wife of the late Stanley A. Scott. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and the Gold Star Wives. Ruth was a retired RN from Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox, KY. During her working years she enjoyed making ceramics to give to her family and friends. Ruth became  blind over 20 years and enjoyed over 40 thousand audio books. She was a resident and enjoyed living at the Dogwood Estates for 5 years in Beaver Dam, KY.  Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by six siblings Wanda Guffy, J C Phelps, Dewey Phelps, Lucille Flener, Helen "Flip" Howard and Beth Phelps. 

Ruth is survived by one son Stanley Scott (Donna) of Owensboro, KY; two grandsons Justin Scott (Sierra) Orlando, FL and Trevor Scott (Amory) of Campbellsville, KY; five great grandchildren Hayes Scott, Harrison Scott, Jillian Scott, Anna Page Scott and Ben Scott; one sister Betty Essex of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at later date. Services are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
