Gayle C. Spurlock

Gayle C. Spurlock, formerly of Princeton, Kentucky, died July 15th at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Trigg County, Kentucky to the late James Spurlock and Rubye Clemens; he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Wayne Spurlock, a son, Mark Spurlock, two grandsons, Jarrod Taylor and James Spurlock. He was a graduate of Butler High School in 1954, Princeton, Kentucky and Murray State. He was a member of Monticello Missionary Baptist Church. He was in the U.S. Army in the Secret Service (ASA) as today known as the CIA. He was a retired teacher and coach of 38 years. He was a teacher and coach at Ft. Campbell, a principal and coach at the 3rd District and teacher and coach at Warren Central High School for 16 years. Survivors include two sons, Mason(Pam)Spurlock of Franklin, Kentucky; Matthew (Bonita) Spurlock of Bowling Green; three daughters, Sheryl (Rickey) Priddy of Rochester, Kentucky; Shanna Spurlock of Cadiz, Kentucky and Scharme (Joe) Gray of Princeton, Kentucky; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 am Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday and again 9:00 am - 11:30 am Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
