Debby Burden: A View from My Lens...

What an incredibly gorgeous week this has been. I am so enjoying this very warm spring already. I can't believe I've already mowed once. Seems awful early, but I'm not complaining. The trees are really blooming all over and really adding so much color to the city as well as the country. I did a lot of driving this week/weekend and my camera got a good workout. I think this picture of our beautiful courthouse was one of my favorites of the week. I've always thought we had one of the prettiest courthouses around and with the added color it is even more beautiful.

Sometimes the most beautiful sights are just right around the corner. The gorgeous town of Woodbury is one place that I enjoy photography every chance I get. This gorgeous Saturday morning the sky couldn't not have been more vibrant. It just relaxes me looking at this photo.

I hope everyone has had an incredible week and I wish you the same for next week.

This gorgeous sunset picture I captured is by far one of my favorites yet. Sunsets are so relaxing and can sure make even a bad day good.

Well, maybe we're going to skip winter all together. I would not complain at all because I have sure enjoyed this gorgeous weather. This weather gives me "hiking fever" so this weekend, I'm trail bound. Nature is so full of surprises and beauty and I want to enjoy every second of it I can.

I wish everyone a wonderful week and don't forget to take time, especially in this weather, to stop and smell the roses along life's journey.

Sometimes we just need to think "spring" when the weather is cold and rainy and crazy; so I thought this week I'd' share a springy picture. I think peacocks are by far one of the most beautiful birds on earth. When I see a peacock in strut, I think of confidence and strength. So many times, that's what many people lack in their own lives. In order to love anyone else, you must first love yourself. I honestly believe this lesson is learned (sometimes in harsh ways) as we age and roll with life's punches.

Anyone that knows me knows that I have a love for barns and old structures. I try to seek out distinct barns that "speak" to me. By that I mean I look at these old structures and if they are not still working barns, I try to imagine all the hard labor that took place inside those boards, how tired the people were at night when they went to bed from hours on hours of manual labor. If they are still working barns, I just imagine all the hard labor that is still taking place inside them and all over the farm.

Reflections

This barn picture seemed to be a favorite when I posted it on my facebook page this week, and I actually even sold a print of it, so I thought I would share it with everyone. When I reflect back on 2011, all I can do is count my blessings. So many good things came my way in the past year. Even when I faced hurdles, I know they were still blessings because they made me try harder and become a stronger person. All I can hope for is that 2012 will push me personally as well as professionally to become a better person.
