White Ridge Church hosts benefit.

Almost Home from Ohio County

On Saturday, October 8th a benefit was held by White Ridge Church to help pay the medical and funeral expenses of Inis Marie Swift.  The day also marked Buddy and Inis’ wedding anniversary.  The event had been planned weeks before in advance in an effort to help pay medical bills.   Their anniversary had been picked as the date because it was to be a fun occasion.  However with her passing, the day was bittersweet, those remembering the woman she was, paying their respects, and lending a helping hand as a community and church.

The benefit was held at Morgantown Elementary School.  Members from the church and the community came together to enjoy a car show, music, food, and auction. Inside the benefit many families and individuals mingled inside enjoying the good food, fellowship and music while several others were outside admiring the vehicles in the car show.

Several individuals volunteered their time for this event.  Selling tickets for the food were NV House and Charles Beasley, serving was Amanda and Lily Dockery, and several others who worked the auction, car show, and clean up.

Two gospel groups provided entertainment for the evening.  The first group was Almost Home from Ohio County, and the second was called God’s Little Voices from Hardin County.

White Ridge Church would like to thank the members and the community for coming together to host this event for their Pastor Buddy Swift and his late wife Inis Marie Swift.  All proceeds from this event went to help pay the medical bills and funeral expenses of Inis Marie Swift.
