MIDWAY - The Butler County High School softball program is well-represented in the college ranks. A pair of Morgantown natives are suiting up for the Midway University softball program. One Butler County High School graduate is nearing the end of her college career while another BCHS product is just getting started after high school.

Butler County High School graduate Lynsie Clark is a 5-3 senior infielder for the Midway University softball team. Clark, who bats right and throws right, transferred to Midway University from St. Catharine College. She has been a regular starter for the Eagles since arriving in Midway. 

As a junior in 2017, Clark started in 42 of 43 games. Clark batted .282 as she was 31-of-110 at the plate with 12 RBI, two home runs, nine doubles and 18 runs. Defensively last season, Clark delivered 72 putouts and 59 assists while registering a .891 fielding percentage. 

Clark is majoring in Business Administration. 

Butler County High School graduate Cheyenne White is a freshman catcher for the Eagles. White also bats right and throws right. She is in her first season with the Midway University softball program after helping to lead Butler County High School in her final prep campaign.

White is majoring in Psychology. 

Thus far in the young 2018 softball season, Midway University is 1-1. The Eagles split a doubleheader with Georgetown College in late-February. 

The experienced Clark started in each of the Eagles' first two games in the 2018 season. 

Midway's roster features players from Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Washington and California. Tripp Swisher is in his third season as the head coach of the Eagles. 

Midway competes in the River States Conference, which also includes Rio Grande (Ohio), IU Southeast, Point Park (Pa.), Cincinnati Christian, WVU Tech, Brescia (Ky.), Carlow (Pa.) and Asbury (Ky.). The Eagles were picked third behind IU Southeast and favorite Rio Grance in the 2018 River States Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
