Trenton Butler and his ATV

Most 5-year-olds are interested in cartoons, toys, and video games.
Trenton Butler is five, and enjoys those things, but he has a passion for racing 4-wheelers, and even at his young age he’s a force to be reckoned with when he’s on his quad.

The youngster just completed another summer of quad-racing, and had quite a bit of success. Trenton went to the Southeast Quad Nationals in Silverpoint, TN in July, and brought home the win in the 50cc six year old and younger class. He’s also been to the prestigious Loretta Lynn MX circuit this summer, and has raced at some other regional tracks.
According to Trenton’s dad, Adam Butler, there have been ups and downs (literally) for Trenton this summer, but it’s been good for the young racer to compete at different tracks and against strong competition.

At the Loretta Lynn MX, Trenton had a bad wreck on Friday in practice, but bounced back to run well on Saturday. One bad race on Saturday hurt his overall standing, causing him to finish 9th in semi-stock, and 13th in the single speed division. Trenton also routinely races against kids older than him, which makes the racing tough, but according to his dad he’s learning and getting better.

Next up for Trenton will be winter indoor ATV racing. Last winter, as a 4-year-old, Trenton finished second overall in the beginner 4-8 age group, and finished 5th in the regular 50cc 4-8 year old age group. Trenton has two quads to race this winter, a 50cc DRR and a 50cc Cobra. His dad says he loves the Cobra, but there’s a steep learning-curve to master that bike, and a steep learning-curve as he continues to hone his riding skills.
Trenton is a student at Morgantown Elementary where he just began kindergarten.

His racing is sponsored by; AMSOil, MotocrossVest, Powermadd, Fly Racing, DWT, Brock McVay, and Industrial Plumbing.
