Tornado damage in Butler County

On Saturday night, February 24th a tornado hit part of Butler County.  The National Weather Service has confirmed three separate tornadoes in Logan and Butler County.

According to meteorologist, Landon Hampton one high-end EF2 impacted southern Logan County, two separate EF1's impacted northern Logan County, with one extending its path length into Butler County.

" The power of mother nature continues to amaze me.  The tree limb splintering into and splitting the brick of a highly damaged home is astounding.," said Hampton.

The red dots indicate the damage areas.
Richard Henderson, Director of Butler County Emergency Management, assisted in the surveys conducted on Sunday in Butler County and provided the photos included in this article.

The following photos were provided by Third District Magistrate Chad Tyree.

On behalf of Rebecca, Emily, Duncan and I, thank you.  Thank you family, friends, neighbors, church family, emergency response teams and emergency response manager for the helping hand extended to our family over the weekend of February 24th and 25th 2018," said Tyree.  "Aware of the storms Saturday night, we had no idea what we were to awake to Sunday morning.  Amazingly our house was spared, while a neighbor’s barn and our shop situated either side and in line with our house was hit by the storm event.  With all the community help that showed up, approximately 40 acres of debris had been pickup by around noon, and a tarp installed over the our shop just a few hours later.  Words cannot express the gratitude we have, or the sense of community felt."
