New BCHS Head Football Coach Josh Robins and BCHS Principal Stoye Young

Butler County High School has hired Joshua Robins as its new head football coach. Robins comes to BCHS  from Todd County Central High School, where he has been the head football coach for the past five seasons.  Before that, he led the Fort Campbell High School (FCHS) Falcons for three seasons as head coach. Prior to FCHS, Robins was at Northwest High School (NWHS), in Clarksville, Tenn., where he served as the defensive coordinator, strength and conditioning coach, and head junior varsity coach for five years. During his tenure at NWHS, the team turned around and landed their first play-off berth in nearly a decade.

Coach Robins played linebacker at Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, South Carolina. He also played linebacker at Golden West Community College in Huntington Beach, California.

A U.S. Army veteran, Robins served for four years at Fort Lewis-McCord, Washington, as a military policeman. While stationed in Washington, he served as the linebacker coach at Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance in 2014 from Austin Peay State University, in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Robins will be employed by the district as a teacher starting in the 2024-25 school year.

"We are excited to have Coach Robins on board as our football coach at Butler County High School," said Stoye Young, principal at Butler County High School.  "He not only eats, sleeps, and breathes football, but he will help instill respect and character into our football players that will help them develop into young men of which this community can be proud.   He is ready to get to work, and we are thrilled to have his experience coaching the game and his passion for helping young people on board here at BCHS!"

Butler County Schools' Superintendent Robert Tuck echoed Young's comments.

"We want to welcome Coach Robins as he takes over the reins as the next Butler County High School football coach.  The selection committee has done a great job in selecting a person who holds the same values of Butler County Schools," said Tuck. "Coach Robins has shown that he is dedicated to developing players both on and off of the field, valuing integrity, hard work, discipline, and a commitment to excellence both athletically and academically."

Supt. Tuck, a former head football coach at BCHS himself, stressed the importance of continuity across the different levels of football in the district.

"This commitment to running a complete program, from the junior pro level through high school, will allow our team to continue to develop and grow and make Butler County proud," said Tuck.  "We are excited to see Coach Robins as he instills those values as he leads our team both on and off the field and look forward to supporting him as he leads our football program."
