PREP FOOTBALL: Tough Russellville team coming to BC for homecoming game

BCHS vs. RHS

An athletic and speedy Russellville team will be making the short trek to Morgantown tonight to face the Butler County Bears in a Homecoming 2013 gridiron match-up.  Butler County (1-0) defeated Logan County 47-0 on opening week.  The Bears were idle last week.  Meanwhile, Russellville (2-0) beat Trigg on the road 41-21 and Ft. Campbell last week at home 42-35.
Coach Ryan Emmick knows his team will be facing a big test tonight.
"Russellville has a ton of speed.  They have playmakers at every position and work hard to get their kids in the open field.  We have to play team defense and get 11 hats to the football," said Emmick.  "They run the veer offense so we have to play our responsibilities.  We have to adjust to their formations and then attack downhill full speed."
A complete game, according to Emmick, is what the Bears need in order to be successful.
"We have to win all three phases of the game.  Special teams could be the phase of the game that ultimately wins the game," said Emmick.  "Offensively, we have to get in a rhythm.  We have to spread the football around and attack what they give us.  We have to be smart and play sound fundamental football," he added.
Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast/streamed live on WLBQ 1570 AM and www.beechtreenews.com.  Mark Allen will have the play-by-play.  Homecoming festivities will commence at approximately 6:20 p.m.
