Pit Bull attack sends three to the hospital

Three Pit Bulls attacked one individual initially and two others that attempted to help at a Dimple Road address on Thursday, July 20.  The incident took place at approximately 6:10 p.m.  Jeanette Vantrease was the first to be attacked by the dogs and husband Charles Vantrease noticed the incident and proceeded to help.  The Vantreases live at 1051 Dimple Road in south Butler County.  The residence where the dogs live is 1043 Dimple Road - their owner is Ronnie B. Manns Jr.  A neighbor- Terry Patten-  heard the screams for help and responded. Patten was also bitten by the dogs.  His brother in-law drove across the road and used his truck to kept the dogs at bay until officers arrived. All three individuals suffered injuries and were transported by Butler County EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  Butler County Sheriff’s Deputies Ronald Cox and Chris Reneer both were at the scene and a taser had be used on one of the dogs.  The three Pit Bulls were taken into custody and lodged at the Butler County Animal Shelter.  

Also responding were Butler County EMS and 2nd District Firefighters.
