Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

The world-wide pandemic has caused some chaos, and as a result, many people are unsettled. I believe most people want to live happy, peaceful lives. The problem is deciding how to do that. Some thoughts others have had are listed below:

-It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to stand alone. – Hans F. Hansen

-A peaceful man does more good than a learned one. – Pope John XXIII

-A risk-free life is far from being a healthy life. – Deepak Chopra

-In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted. – Bertrand Russell

-Not all storms come to disrupt your life, some come to clear your path. – Blossom Chukwujekwu

-I am currently under construction. Thank you for your patience. – Unknown

-Negative emotions like loneliness, envy, and guilt have an important role to play in a happy life; they’re big, flashing signs that something needs to change. – Gretchen Rubin

-Great things never came from comfort zones. – Anonymous

-You’re always one decision away from a totally different life. – Mark Batterson

-There are some things you can only learn in a storm. – Joel Osteen

-A healthy attitude is contagious but don’t wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier. – Tom Stoppard

-A happy life is one spent in learning, earning, and yearning. – Lillian Gish

-You have to be odd to be number one. – Dr. Seuss

- Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness. – Anonymous

-Happiness is not a goal. It’s a by-product of a life well lived. – Eleanor Roosevelt

-A life of fulfillment comes from within; through the knowledge that you were created with everything you need to be happy. – Deepak Chopra

-One of the hardest decisions you’ll ever face in life is choosing whether to walk away or try harder. – Ziad K. Abdelnour

-The destination is a happy life, an accomplished life that doesn’t end with death but with eternal life. – Angelo Scola

-Church attendance is as vital to a disciple as a transfusion of rich, healthy blood to a sick man. – Dwight L. Moody

-Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6

-For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11

-Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. – Romans 12:2

-For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9

-Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. – Revelation 3:20

Joel Osteen’s statement that some things can only be learned in a storm reminds me of the lessons I’ve learned this year – mostly resulting from the pandemic. However, I really like Eleanor Roosevelt’s idea: happiness is a by-product of a life well lived. Even in the current chaos, our focus can be on living life well.
