The OWL Academy: On Our Way to Learning

The Butler County Family Resource Center will be enrolling new and returning students for the 2016-2017 Owl Academy beginning Monday, August 15th.

The OWL Academy is an early childhood program established in 2012 for all children ages 2-5 in Butler County.  Students and their parent/caregiver attend the program and engage in early learning and kindergarten readiness opportunities. The OWL Academy classroom is located in North Butler Elementary School and students take pride in attending class at the school.

OWL provides an early childhood education opportunity for children who are not enrolled in preschool or a Head Start program.  Classes meet twice monthly on Fridays at North Butler Elementary from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  OWL Academy prepares students for school through fun readiness activities.  The program includes lessons to increase color, shape, number and letter recognition.  The students will advance their name writing ability, practice weather watching, and even start bus safety lessons that include a real bus ride.  Students begin to learn good classroom behavior and gain from the positive peer interaction.

All necessary learning materials and snacks are provided at each class.  OWL Academy is free resource and does not require any additional fees.  The program is funded and administered by the Butler County Family Resource Center.  Regular attendance is important and should be considered when applying for the program.  Classes are scheduled to begin September 2016 through May 2017.

Space is limited and Registration will open after 9:00 on Monday August 15, 2016
