National School Counselor Week

Mrs. Hanna Southerland

The week of February 5-9 is National School Counselor Week.

 Mr. Daniel Ward

At the high school level, Mrs. Hanna Southerland and Mr. Daniel Ward work with Butler County High School students to prepare them for life after high school.

They work to improve ACT Scores, assure that Seniors meet benchmark before they graduate to prepare them for college and that they are career ready.   BCHS offers many dual credit classes through WKU, ScKYCTC and Murray State University.

On a daily basis, BCHS counselors advise students in a wide range of topics from choices in career/college majors, help them with personal issues and work together with the Youth Service Center to make sure the students have the items necessary to be successful at school.
"We are fortunate to have two of the best counselors to serve our students at Butler County High School," said Principal Mike Gruber.

JoLynn Reed and Linda Tyree serve the students at Morgantown Elementary.

Myra Swift serves as counselor at North Butler Elementary.

Sherlyn Bratcher serves the students at Butler County Middle School.
