An individual is behind bars and facing an attempted murder charge following an altercation on Old River Road in Morgantown.  

Morgantown Police responded to a shots fired call at the boat ramp on Old River Road at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21.

Upon arrival at the scene, Morgantown Police officers interviewed several witnesses and gathered statements regarding the incident.

A local juvenile male was involved in an altercation with a male individual from Logan County. During the fight, another male individual, identified as Keenan Noffsinger, age 18, of Central City, KY, struck the juvenile during a fight and then proceeded to his vehicle to retrieve a firearm.

Another juvenile intervened and attempted to apprehend Noffsinger, who was armed at that point.

During the altercation, both individuals went to the ground and a shot was fired point blank at the juvenile's face, which missed him but resulted in shrapnel like wounds from the bullet hitting gravel close to his face. Witnesses began to run and Noffsinger fired off at least two additional rounds in the air before fleeing the scene with other individuals.

Butler County EMS was called on scene to evaluate the injured victim. He was medically cleared only suffering superficial wounds to the face, neck and mouth.  A complaint warrant was issued immediately following the statements of the witnesses and victims of the incident.

Keenan Noffsinger was apprehended at his parents' residence in Bremen, Kentucky at approximately 2:30 a.m. by the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department and he was transported to Butler County by Morgantown Police Officer Seth Felty.  Noffsinger was lodged at the Butler county Jail with charges set as:

--Murder (attempted)

--Assault 1st

--Assault 1st (attempted)

Wanton endangerment (8 counts)
