Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center observed the National Day of Prayer

Chaplin Derek Cain leads prayer.

The good folks at Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center observed the National Day of Prayer Service on Thursday, May 4, under the leadership of Chaplain Derek Cain with an assist by Pastor Morgan, and many of the Center’s elders. Sincere prayer, joyful singing, along with  comforting fellowship were spiritual highlights of the event.

“This is truly a wonderful day because we get to acknowledge our creator,” said Pastor Ruth Morgan of the event. The National Day of Prayer is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked to turn to God in prayer and meditation. The modern law formalizing its annual observance was enacted in 1952, although earlier days of fasting and prayer had been established by the Second Continental Congress from 1775 until 1783.

The Prayer Day observance at Morgantown Care and Rehab was one of many of the monthly activities that the Center provides for its residents, and also featured pineapple peach punch, tasty desserts prepared by the dietary staff, and personal visitations by Chaplain Cain. Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation Center prides itself on providing quality care, and keeping residents happy and active. They can be reached at (270) 526-3368.
