MES Red Ribbon Week October 24-28

Morgantown Elementary students will join the country in celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 24-28.  Red Ribbon Week is a campaign to create a drug-free community, and MES will be having a different theme each day.  On Friday, October 28th, at 8:00 A.M. they will have a Red Ribbon Parade.  Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade are invited to enter a float in the parade, but entries MUST REGISTER no later than Monday, October 24th.  Parents and guests are welcome to come and should enter through the back gymnasium doors.  Participants will be lined up in the fifth grade classrooms and will “parade” through the gym.  All entries must be decorated with a drug-free message.

Winners will be announced and prizes given for each category at the conclusion of the parade.   All MES students are encouraged to participate in these Red Ribbon activities throughout the week:

Monday, Oct. 24th Be proactive – crazy hair day   Take Charge of your life!!  Be in control…. Even if your hair Isn’t!!  Style your hair anyway you want today!!  It’s crazy hair day!

Tuesday, Oct. 25th  sharpen the saw – pajama day  Sharpen the saw by getting plenty of sleep.  This will keep our bodies and minds strong and healthy.  Wear your favorite pajamas today to show that getting plenty of rest helps us become better leaders today and everyday!!

 Wednesday, October 26th SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD – stuffed animal day   Who listens to us better than anyone????  Our favorite animals, of course!  Bring your favorite stuffed animal to school today!           

Thursday, October 27th SYNERGIZE – butler county blue day    When we work together, we are more successful!  Today, show your Butler county pride by wearing your butler county blue!
