U.S. News and World Report has released its 2014 report on nursing homes and Morgantown Care and Rehab is listed among the best. According to the U.S. News.com web site, “There are 36 nursing homes in Western Coal Fields, eight of which received an overall rating of five stars from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.”
The ratings cover almost 16,000 nursing homes nationwide and are freely available at http://www.usnews.com/best-nursing-homes.
The eight WK coalfield facilities with five star overall ratings listed alphabetically are:
Baptist Health Transitional Care, Madisonville; Belle Meade Home, Greenville; Carmel Home, Owensboro; Kindred Nursing and Rehab-Maple,Greenville; Kindred Nursing and Rehab-Riverside, Calhoun; Morgantown Care and Rehab; Muhlenberg Community Hospital, Greenville and The Transitional Care Center of Owensboro.

“I’m very proud of the team here, the whole entire team, working together. It’s the only way that it can be possible,” said Logan Midkiff, administrator, speaking Friday in his office at the facility. “Butler County is so good to us and is one of the most gracious counties I’ve ever seen.”
