MCR van crashes into doctor's office - no injuries reported

Thursday, January 11, began as a normal day in Dr. Todd Cohron's ophthalmology  office but ended up as anything but ordinary.  The office is located on G. L. Smith Street in Morgantown.

According to Cohron, a van from Morgantown Care and Rehab crashed into the building shortly after 10 a.m.  No injuries were reported.  The patient was in the office at the time of the accident.  The driver's name was not released by law enforcement officers.

The van had apparently backed into Dr. Cohron's sign in the parking lot.  According to sources,  it appears that the bumper/vehicle got stuck on the base of the sign.  While attempting to move forward, the van hit a parked vehicle, belonging to Patty Craig, before impacting the office building.  The van crashed into the frame/fitting room that is used for glasses and it came to a stop in the hallway.

"We are very thankful and blessed that there were no injuries," said Dr. Todd Cohron

According to Dr. Cohron, the equipment used in his business will need to be professionally cleaned and assessed before opening again.  The impacted area was boarded up to prevent further damage.  The office is closed until further notice.  A reopening date will be announced as soon as possible.

Morgantown City Police worked the accident.
