March Gladness raises over $12K for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County

Pancake breakfast was a hit.

The annual March Gladness fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Butler County was held on March 3, at Cool Springs Church, and drew hundreds of gracious supporters from all parts of the county.

The day’s pleasant activities started out with an all you can eat pancake breakfast complete with hot off the griddle sausage, trimmings, and refreshments. A huge all-day silent auction with more than 50 donated items ranging from sporting goods, craft items, games sets, food, gift baskets, and household appliances was set up for all to bid on.

Grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and bologna along with drinks were served for lunch while the athletic minded put in some time on the basketball court competing in fast and fun-filled rounds of 3 on 3 tournaments, and the always popular hot shot competitions.

Zeke Woodcock, Caleb Beasley, Baylee Anderson, Parker Rice, and Jordan Dobbs were the Basketball winners, but according to Jodi Chambers of the club, everyone that helped out or came to the event was also a winner. “We would not have a Boys and Girls Club in Butler without the support of Businesses in the community,” said Jodi who also wanted to thank Cool Springs Church volunteers, the Club staff, and Board of Directors for the time and efforts spent on March Gladness.

Prime sponsors of the event which raised more than $12,000 were James Runion Farm Bureau Insurance, Modern Woodmen, and Bruce White. The Boys and Girls  Club serves over 600 children in the county through after school programs, summer camps. and other activities.
