Magistrates approve litter abatement payments, accept resignation, review policies and procedures

The Butler County Fiscal Court held a called meeting on Tuesday, September 22, at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Johnny Tuck, Chad Tyree, David Whittinghill, and Bobby Moore.
With a short agenda the magistrates quickly got to business.  First, they approved litter abatement payments to Richland Baptist Church $600 and the Butler County Middle School Boys' Basketball Team for $616.  Next, magistrates accepted the resignation of Anthony Perrin, who worked as a county mechanic.  After accepting the resignation, the court approved to advertising for county employees.  The magistrates approve to advertise for a mechanic at $13.50 per hour, a Grade 3 employee at $12.50 per hour and a part-time Grade 1 employee combined with part-time relief ferry operator position at $10 per hour (working less than 100 hours per month).
The magistrates approved the bills and transfers by a 5-0 vote.  Prior to adjourning the court discussed policies and procedures concerning probation periods for new hires, giving a 60-90 day opportunity for new hires to obtain CDL license, drug testing, and updating procedures for alcohol and drugs found in county vehicles.  No action was taken concerning these issues.
