The Little Muddy Rural Development (RD) Club held its fundraiser auction on Saturday, April, 21st.  A large crowd gathered to bid on a robust selection of items that were donated for the auction.

“It was a wonderful day and we are so thankful for everyone that donated items and came out for lunch, said Heather Drake Green, secretary.  “Special thank you to Bruce White who auctioneered for the event. With the help of our friends and neighbors, the Little Muddy RD club plans to continue to serve our community for many years to come," added Green.

The Little Muddy Rural Development Club raised over $5,200 from lunch and the auction.  The small community in Butler County is well known for lending a helping hand, and its generous nature. The funds from the fundraiser are used to assist various charitable organizations in the county that focus mainly on our youth. “We consider any money that we make is money that we can give away”, said Mary Hatcher, Treasurer.

The live auction was for numerous items, many of them handcrafted, home baked or the end result of some high-quality home canning. Among the many donated auction items was a peanut butter pie with a home-made crust baked by Rita Drake that sold for a record $320.

The hearty luncheon was a homestyle buffet type that featured fresh off the grill hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salads, chips, refreshments and a very large variety of baked goods.
