Lady Bears drop games to Grayson, Logan

The Butler County Lady Bears fell to 4-12 overall and 0-3 in district play recently with a losses to 12th District rival Grayson County and border rival Logan County. 

The Lady Bears fell behind early and couldn't make up any ground on Friday, January 19, on the road at Grayson County.  Trailing 18-5 after the first quarter and 28-13 at the break, Butler County fell 61-30 to the Lady Cougars.

Senior Maddy Murphy led the team in scoring with 15 points.

The Lady Bears returned home on Monday, January 22 to face the Logan County Lady Cougars.  Butler County turned in an impressive second quarter to take a 25-24 halftime lead.  However, a tough third for the Lady Bears proved to be the difference as Logan put 28 points on the board to 19 for Butler.  The Lady Cougars held on for the 67-54 win. 

Butler County had a balanced scoring line with three players in double figures - Maddie Cardwell with 19 points, Kasidy Graham 1ith 13, and Maddy Murphy with 12.

The Lady Bears will be in action again on January 29 at home against Hart County - 6 p.m. start - and on the road January 30 at Daviess County - 7:30 p.m. with a tip.
