Hocker Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

Lieutenant Colonel Edwin "Andy" Hocker

Major Edwin "Andy" Hocker was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel on March 16 at Western Kentucky University.

LTC Hocker began his career as an 88M in the 2123rd in 2001. LTC Hocker received his commission in the Ordnance Corps from Western Kentucky University in 2007. 

His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course at Fort Lee, VA, and the Command General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. 

MAJ Hocker's command and staff assignments include Maintenance Control Officer 88th BSB, XO B/Co 88th BSB, BDE Maintenance Officer 1st Maneuver Enhancement BDE FT, Polk LA., BN S-3, 123BSB, E/CDR 123rd BSB, BN XO 123rd BSB 4th BDE, 1st Armor, Division Fort Bliss TX, Recruiting Commander Wilkes-Barre PA, Director of the Logistics United States Military Training Mission Saudi Arabia, BDE S-4 89th MP BDE Fort Hood TX, Executive Officer 61st QM BN Fort Hood TX, and BDE S-4 1stABCT 1 Cavalry Division. Deputy Division Chief, Weapons System Support Defense Logistics Agency

Military awards and decorations include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, and Combat Action Badge. He is also a recipient of the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharp Medal.

MAJ Hocker has been married to Jennifer for seven years. They have one daughter, Sienna (15), and one son, James (2). He is the son of David Hocker of Morgantown and Pam Burns of New York.
