Everest Athletics Opens In Morgantown

A familiar face to Butler County sports fans has a new store now open in Morgantown.

Clint Clark, former BCHS head baseball coach and current assistant, has opened Everest Athletics, located at 220 W. GL Smith Street in Morgantown, next to Bo’s Smoke Shop. The store is open weekdays 8:30-4:30, and on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Clark has considered opening a sporting goods store in Morgantown for some time, and finally decided the time was right because of the large number of Butler Countians involved in organized athletics. He has a full line of equipment and apparel from recognized brands such as; Mizuno, Rawlings, and Wilson. His stock features a wide variety of equipment for baseball and softball, football, running, tennis, golf, basketball, and soccer and includes not only equipment but also uniforms for both players and coaches.

“There needs to be a place where people can buy equipment and supplies locally,” said Clark earlier in the summer. “Nobody wants to have to make a trip to Bowling Green or Owensboro every time they need something for their team or for their child.”

Everest Athletics also caters to sports fans, with plenty of Butler County Bears clothing including hats and shirts. Clark can also order items not available at the store, and has prices that will compete with any local sporting goods supplier or internet site.
