Drake Embry of the Butler County High School football team has signed his national letter of intent to play college football for Campbellsville University.
“This is the first time I have had a player sign on National Signing Day, but today is Drake Embry’s Day,” said Head Coach Ryan Emmick. "He has put in a ton of hard work and effort over the years, and always had a great attitude.  Today is example of how his hard work has paid off.”

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for all his blessings he has given me and the people he has put in my life.  I want to thank my parents for taking me to practice and letting me play from the very beginning.  I would like to thank all my teammates, especially the seniors, for pushing me and making me the player I am today,” said Drake in his remarks.
He also thanked all the coaches for pushing him to his potential and the community for supporting him during his football career.

Coming off its first Mid-South Conference Championship since 1996, Fighting Tiger Football head coach Perry Thomas, and his coaches took another step towards continuing the Fighting Tiger foundation and announced the signing of 26 players on National Signing day, including Drake Embry.

"We are very pleased with our initial day of spring signing," said Thomas. "We were able to address some needs and add some depth at positions we lost last season. This class is very talented on the field and also in the classroom. I am excited for the remainder of the spring."

All of the 2015 signees, both high school and transfers, will be introduced to Fighting Tiger fans at CU's Maroon and White Game in April.

Campbellsville will open its 2015 schedule with University of the Cumberlands on Thursday, Aug. 27 under the lights at Finley Stadium for a 7 p.m. EDT kickoff.
