Chamber Luncheon: Johnsons present money to B&G Club; Givens touts new Chamber website

Chad and Robin Johnson presents the Boys & Girls Club with $2,500 check.

The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon on Thursday, February 26.  Chamber President James Runion welcomed everyone.  Morgantown Church of the Nazarene Pastor Ruth A. Morgan blessed the food. Green River Catering provided the food.
A special presentation was made during the luncheon. Chad and Robin Johnson of Morgantown have been selected as winners in America’s Farmers Grow Communities SM, which gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. The donations are available through the Monsanto Fund. The Johnsons designated the Butler County Boys and Girls Club to receive the award. The check presentation was made to Club Director Bruce White and other board members.
In 1,324 eligible counties in several different states, farmers could win $2,500 for their favorite community nonprofit.  The Monsanto Fund has invested more than $19.8 million in local communities since 2010.
America’s Farmers Grow Communities is part of a broad commitment by the Monsanto Fund to highlight the important contributions farmers make every day to our society by helping them grow their local communities. For more information and to see a full list of winners, visit www.growcommunities.com.
“Chad has helped our club in many different ways.  Last year he held a fundraiser; he clears our parking lot, and helps anyway he can,” said White.

C. Josh Givens
Chamber Board member C. Josh Givens spoke about the new Chamber website.  The website was designed by Yellowberri Creative Studio.  Givens showed the website and explained many of the features.  The web address is www.mtowncoc.com and will be live soon, hopefully within the next week.  According to Givens, Landon Hampton, also of Yellowberri, worked closely with him on the project.
