Butler County Represented at the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting

: Eddie Melton from Webster County is currently serving as Vice President of Kentucky Farm Bureau.

Farmers and ranchers from across America recently gathered in Phoenix, Arizona for the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.  Participants gathered to learn about and work on ways to promote agriculture during the four day meeting.

Betty Farris has just finished her term as chair of the Kentucky Farm Bureau women’s committee.  Betty also just finished her term on the Kentucky Farm Bureau board of directors.  She was recognized for her outstanding service at a Kentucky Farm Bureau Breakfast.

Greg Drake II is currently serving on the Kentucky Farm Bureau board of directors and served as a voting delegate during the delegate session.

The most important part of the meeting was the delegate session where farmers and ranchers from across America discussed farm bureau policy and how to best protect and promote American agriculture.

Delegate numbers to the American Farm Bureau are determined by membership in State Farm Bureaus.  Kentucky has 25 of the just over 350 votes in the delegate body so Kentucky’s agricultural interests are well represented.
