Butler County: A Proficient/Progressing High Progress District
Statewide test scores were released this week for Kentucky School districts. It is the second year of a new testing system, Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP).
"We are very proud of the progress that our schools and district has made as indicated by our improved test scores. Everyone has worked hard to achieve the following distinctions for our district and schools. Our district has earned the classification of a Proficient/Progressing High Progress District. Only 17 districts in the state earned that distinction. Our high school earned the classification of Proficient school; our Middle school is considered a Progressing High Progress School of which only 34 middle schools in the state earned for this testing cycle. Our Elementary schools are considered Progressing with Morgantown Elementary being classified as a High Progress School with only 74 elementary schools in the state earning that distinction," said Superintendent Scott Howard.
