Superintendent Tuck released the following statement as Master of Ceremonies.

"Every community has a story to tell; a heritage and history that needs to be shared and preserved. It was with this vision in mind that the Butler County Hall of Fame was created.  As we begin to tell the story of Butler County from the lens of our Hall of Fame, our first class lays the foundation of who we are and what we strive to be as a community.  When I think of the Butler County community, I think of pride, perseverance, a blue-collar work ethic, and an overall toughness.  We all know so well that life is hard and filled with trials and tribulations that must be overcome in order to find success.  But success is not something that just happens, one does not readily see the dedication, hard work, perseverance, discipline, sacrifice, and persistence that is required to achieve that success.  One does not see the disappointments and failures that are an integral part of the journey to excellence, providing opportunities for growth and change leading to the strength and confidence needed to achieve the success so desired.  It is within the members of this Hall of Fame that a face is given to the story of success which will forever remain visible to our students, inspiring them on to excellence and being a beacon shining toward greatness.  Their shining example personifies the mission of Butler County Schools through Building character and 21st century Skills, Collaborating with families and community, and Shaping the next generation of local and global citizens.  Additionally, it gives credence to our Portrait of a Learner which envisions teaching the skills of Character, Problem Solving, Communication, and Collaboration; emphasizing combining those skills collectively together to become a productive local and global citizen as is demonstrated by this Hall of Fame class. This collective group demonstrates to our students and community that our hopes and dreams can ignite right here in Butler County. This Hall of Fame class has seen its members compete not only throughout the commonwealth and United States but across the world spanning multiple nations and continents.  This class embodies the spirit of what being a Butler County Bear truly means and serves as a model for our students and sets the bar high as we strive to set the standard of what makes us ButlerStrong."

According to Tuck, plans are for a new Hall of Fame class to be inducted each year.  Nominations can be picked up at the Butler County Board of Education or can be accessed at the following link:
