Butler County Farm Management Night April 13th at 6:00 p.m.

Farm families will want to attend the Farm Management Night program on April 13th at the Extension Office at 6 p.m.

Dr. Greg Halich, UK Extension Agriculture Economist housed in Lexington, will discuss the profitability of different stocking rates for beef cattle and how machinery cost affect profitability in cow/calf operations.  He will discuss economics of having new verses older farm equipment in your operation and how that affects profitability of different size herds.

There is no charge to attend.  PBI Bank is sponsoring the event and a light meal will be provided.  Plans are underway to make “Farm Management Night” an annual program for our farm community.  Beef and forage production will be the focus of the first one, but we plan to expand the program in the future.

For more information, contact the Butler County Extension Office at 112 E GL Smith Street, Morgantown, or call 270-526-3767.
