Butler County Chapter NSDAR Art Exhibit

The Butler County Chapter NSDAR held their first Art Exhibit for Butler County Artists on Friday and Saturday, June 2 & 3, 2017. The showroom included over 100 entries in a variety of mediums, including paintings in acrylic, oil and watercolor. There were also pen and ink drawings, woodcraft and photography entries. There was also on display one of the Quilts of Valor created by the local Piecemakers group. Visitors of all ages were amazed at the amount of artistic talent from Butler County community members, both past and present.


Contributors included: Electa Annis, Barbara Blanton, Christine Bratcher, Reeta Burden, Tracy Thornton-Cowles, Bill Freedle, Jessica Givens, Audrey Howard, Mable Hudson, Ruth Ann Hunt, Claudia Jennings, Doyle Lee, Ines Lopez, Edythe Martin, Charles Romans, Georgia Lavern Romans, Sibyl Shelton, Helen Smith, Alan West, Tommy Wood and Melissa Zebl.


Works of deceased artists included: George Dabbs, Floyd Hammers, Joyce Porter Hammers, C. L. Haney, and Jan Evans.


Monica Crawford's Butler County Middle School art students also contributed: Alexia Baize, Bryley Baker, Allie Baxter, Martin Brown, Tara Blunk, Joshua Cantu, Alex Coleman, Hannah Demerly, Andrea Deweese, Christian Embry, Deanna Engler, Taylor Ferrell, Briar Flener, Toni Franzell, Carter Graham, Hannah Grise, Nick Hudson, Bella Hunt, Carlie Jenkins, Lucas Johnson, Shelby Johnson, Gracie Leach, Cole Martin, Ellie Martin, Konner Mason, Christian Neighbors, Bridget Noah, Layton Phelps, Taylor Raymer, Autumn Richards, Cheni Schroeder, Mattie Smith, Summer Taylor, Lela Thompson, Summerlynn Turner, and Carlee Wester.

This painting was done by the residents at Morgantown Care and Rehab and Kenna Martin from the Butler County Public Library.


The exhibit was located at the Friendly Furniture building.
