Butler County Bassmasters began their season @ Lake Malone

Danny Cardwell and Chris Phelps taking 1st place with 13.74 lbs

Butler County Bassmasters began their regular season at Lake Malone on Saturday, March 24th. Fishing was again exceptionally tough with multiple fronts moving in on top of one another, high winds, rain and cold weather.  Lake Malone has been a big bass factory in our part of the state, and Saturday was no exception.  Not many limits were weighed in, but there were some bigger than average sized fish hitting the scales.18 boats participated in the tournament with Danny Cardwell and Chris Phelps taking 1st place with 13.74 lbs.,

2nd Mo Hazel and Brian Baker 10.86 lbs,

3rd Wayne Miller 8.22 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Danny Cardwell and Chris Phelps with a huge 6.66 lb largemouth.  The next BCB event will be the Cabela’s Open at Lake Beshear in Dawson Springs, KY on Saturday April 7th. The tournament starts at 6:30 AM with weigh-in at 2:30 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat.  Lake Beshear is one of the premier small lake in Kentucky. Come on out for a great day of fishing.

BCB would like to thank all of our members and 2018 sponsors: Southern Outdoors, Cabela’s, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, CRT Sports & Monogram, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great 30th year of fishing and fellowship in 2018.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters in 2018, listed below is their contact information.
