Books and Breakfast

Margie, Cheyenne and Floyd Ping

The Butler County Family Resource Center held the annual "Books and Breakfast with Dad" program for first grade students and their families on March 24th at North Butler Elementary and March 31st at Morgantown Elementary School. The turnout this year was wonderful!  We had 72 family members attend the FRC Programs!

The Books and Breakfast Program is geared toward helping dads strengthen their connection and involvement in the lives and education of their children.

Jon Felty (Berkley’s Dad) Reading to students

Fathers, grandfathers, uncles (even moms) were invited to attend a free breakfast made by the wonderful cafeteria staff at North Butler and MES with their student. After breakfast guest traveled to class with their student where they then read books to small groups or to the class.  Every first grade student received a free book from the Family Resource Center so they could continue the reading fun at home.

Perry Shane (Emmy Hawkin’s Grandfather) reading to students

The Family Resource Center would like to thank everyone that attended and volunteered to read.  We would also like to send out a special thanks to all the first grade teachers for allowing your class to participate and to the cafeteria staff for the preparation of a wonderful breakfast.
