Beech Tree News presents: "Bears Spotlight" Kyle Chambers

Kyle is a 6’3” senior at Butler County High School and is a member of the BCHS indoor track & field team and outdoor track & field team. He is the son of Denny and Samantha Chambers. The Chambers family reside in southern Butler County.


Kyle lived in Summerdale, Alabama before moving to Morgantown in 2nd grade. While in Alabama, he started playing t-ball and soccer at five years old. After moving to Kentucky, Kyle continued to play baseball and started playing junior pro basketball. 


In 3rd grade, he began junior pro football and played through elementary and middle school. Kyle was a part of the 2019 8th grade GRVC Championship team. He continued to play football at BCHS through his junior season.


Kyle’s dad, Denny, attended B.C. Rain High School in Mobile, Alabama where he played varsity football from 1985-88 and was a part of three state playoff berths.

 

Kyle’s oldest sister, Kaitlyn, played BCHS volleyball from 2014-18 and previously held the school record for most sets in a career. Kyle’s middle sister, Jordan, was a BCMS/BCHS cheerleader from 2014-2020 earning UCA All-American distinction. She was also Valedictorian of her class and voted the 2020 Bearfest Queen by her peers. His youngest sister, Caroline, played BCHS basketball from 2021-22 and was a part of the 2022 district championship team. She cheered from 2015-21 and was a state qualifier for NCA in 2021. Caroline’s track career extended from 2017-2022 where she was a part of the school record for the 4x100m relay and was a state qualifier for the high jump in 2022.


During Kyle’s running career at BCHS, he has achieved the following titles and records: 

2024 Indoor Track 400m 2A State Champion

2023 Outdoor Track 4x400m Region Champion

2023 400m Outdoor Track Region Runner-Up

2022 4x200 Outdoor Track Region Champion

3x National Qualifier

School Record Holder for Indoor 4x400m and 4x800m

State Record Holder for Indoor 400m (51.33s)

Member of 2020 Indoor Track and Field State Champion Team

Member of 2022 Outdoor Track and Field Region Champion Team

Member of 2023 Outdoor Track and Field Region Runner-Up Team



Kyle was selected for the KHSAA 1st team academic All-State. He was also a 2023 FBLA state qualifier for Sports Management and Entertainment. Kyle also enjoys playing disc golf and pickleball. In his free time, he likes to hang out with friends and attend Fortify at Crossland Church. 


Kyle is a student athletic trainer and shadows through Orthopedics Plus in Morgantown. He also works as a lifeguard for the Morgantown City Pool in the summers.
