Bears level Carlisle County 81-56

OWENSBORO — Winning convincingly, Butler County pulled away to beat Carlisle County 81-56 in the Southwire Holiday Classic at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Friday, Dec. 29. 
With the win, Butler County improved to 6-4.
Excelling offensively, Butler County shot 53.5 percent (38-of-71) from the field. The Bears made four of 21 three-point field goal attempts.
Butler County connected on one of two free throw attempts in the matchup. 
Ty Price scored a game-high 29 points to lead Butler County to the win. Price is among the top boys' high school basketball players in the state.
Supplying a double-double for Butler County, Lawson Rice scored 25 points and cleared out 13 rebounds.
Accompanying Price and Rice in double figures for Butler County, Briar Griffin netted 13 points. 
Chipping in offensively for Butler County, Justin Castlen delivered six points, Trever Deweese added five points and Curtis Murphy contributed three points. 
Butler County is scheduled to meet St. Xaver at McCracken County's Mustang Madness in Paducah on Saturday, Jan. 6. Tip-off for the Butler County-St. Xavier game is set for 3 p.m.
