BCMS Students Travel to Washington

While some traveled to a relaxing Spring Break at the beach, a group of Butler County Middle School students traveled to our nation’s capital. Hosted by Butler County teacher Cody Donaldson, these students set out to learn more about the history they are learning in the classroom.

“Learning reaches a whole new level when you can actually see and touch what is being taught in the classroom.” Cody Donaldson expressed. “These experiences will bring to the books these students read in history class alive when classes resume after Spring Break.”

The group, which included Josh Embry, Dylan Embry, Darain Thomason, Grace Decker, Landon Cardwell, Zac Tutko, Conner Glass, and Samatha Diaz, traveled to many historic sites, such as:
The Capital Building
The White House
Washington Monument
Lincoln Memorial
Arlington National Cemetery
Martin Luther King Memorial
Roosevelt memorial
Jefferson Memorial
War Memorials
Library of Congress
The National Mall
The Smithsonian Museums
The Holocaust Museum
Mount Vernon
Alexandria
The Supreme Court
